We are growing sugar crystals. We boiled sugar and water and let in cool in jars. Once cooled we dipped our sugar coated wooden skewers into the water. Now we just have to wait and observe :) (without touching/ removing the sticks/ shaking the jars).
We learned the word hypothesis.
The kids hypothesis:
Sugar will disappear
We are making really sugary punch to drink
The color will disappear when it gets hot
Observation:
Boiling made it hot and steamy
The jar is hot when we put the sugar water in it.
The color got darker and mixed better after it boiled.
The sugar made it take up more room in the jar.
The sugar did disappear in the water. Another new word. Dissolved.
